The above one was by Dwarka Prasad Maheshwari. Inspirational and beautiful words :) Of course, when I actually read it ( class Xth) for the first time, I couldn’t possibly fathom the depth and relevance of these words. To me, back then they were just some lines that I had to vaguely grok so that I could answer related questions about what the poet intends to say. I sometimes look back and realize what a dumbass I’d been for the first decade and a half in my life. Ah well, youth is wasted on the young. And inspirational poetry wasted on a generation obsessed with scoring marks and pipping their peers more than original thought, something that this poem so beautifully promotes.
